Nivana (“we”, “us”, “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data in an open and transparent manner. This policy explains what data we collect and why.
1) Your Personal Content Stays Private
The content of your journal entries is stored on your device and is never uploaded to our servers. We cannot read your journal entries.
2) No Analytics or Third-Party Tracking
We do not use analytics services or third-party tracking in the iOS app. Specifically, we do not collect advertising identifiers, device identifiers, or in-app usage metrics (e.g., screen views, taps) for analytics or marketing. Limited technical data required to provide the service (e.g., IP address in server logs, your sign-in email) may be processed but is not used for tracking or profiling.
3) AI Content Generation
When you generate a meditation or affirmation, we send only your chosen settings (e.g., focus, duration, voice) and the resulting script text to our secure AI and voice-synthesis partners to create the audio. This process is anonymized and does not include your journal content or any direct personal identifiers.
4) Authentication
When you sign in, we use only the necessary information (your email address and a unique user ID) to secure your account and manage premium features.
5) Your Choices
- Delete account: You can permanently delete your account and associated cloud data from within the app.

6) Processors & Sharing
We use service providers to deliver features like AI text and voice generation. These providers only process the minimal data needed to perform their services on our behalf and must provide the same or equal protection of user data as stated in this policy. We do not sell personal data.
7) Data Retention & Deletion
We keep account data (email, user ID) while your account is active. Most app data (sessions, progress, journals, settings) is stored locally on your device. You can delete local data in-app. To delete your account or any server-side data, contact us at hello.nivana@rediffmail.com; we fulfill requests within 30 days unless a longer period is required by law.
8) Consent & Withdrawal
Where we ask for permissions or consent, you may withdraw at any time in system settings or in-app. Withdrawing consent may limit certain features.
9) Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect data in transit and at rest. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but we aim to apply reasonable safeguards appropriate to the data we handle.
10) Children
Nivana is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us to remove it.
11) International Transfers
Our service providers may operate globally. Where applicable, we rely on appropriate safeguards for international transfers, such as contractual commitments that require equivalent protection.
